CLOSURE OF THE THREE PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The Education & Employment Directorate wishes to advise the public that it has become necessary, for public health reasons, to close the three Primary Schools on St Helena for two days, from Thursday 4 to Friday 5 February 2016.

Prince Andrew School will remain open as normal.

Since the outbreak of the human viral infection, the Directorate has been closely monitoring attendance rates of both staff and pupils throughout all schools – and regrettably the decision has had to be taken to close the Primary Schools.
It is hoped that this short period of closure will help to minimise the spread of the virus on St Helena and will provide an opportunity for affected staff and pupils to recuperate.

All three Primary Schools will reopen as normal on Monday 8 February 2016.

The Directorate wishes to apologise for the inevitable inconvenience caused and thanks parents, guardians and carers in advance for their understanding and cooperation in these circumstances.
