FIELD OPERATIONS DRAWING TO A CLOSE
The St Helena Government Statistics Office would like to inform the public that field operations for the 2016 Census are now drawing to a close. If you have a Census form which has not been collected or returned, please contact the Statistics Office immediately on telephone 22138 or 22958, so that arrangements can be made for return or collection.
In addition, a small number of households and are being enumerated through special measures – in situations where communications have been difficult or where Enumerators have felt at risk. These special measures are there to protect staff and avoid distress to vulnerable persons.
If members of the public have, through no fault of their own, not received, completed or returned their Census forms, then they are not at risk of legal action. Again, please contact the Statistics Office as soon as possible to establish a solution to getting your forms completed and returned.
Persons who are willfully refusing to complete or return Census forms will be contacted shortly about compliance, before any legal action is taken.
