THURSDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2016

In order to dislodge a dangerous rock outcrop, Rock Guards from the Environment & Natural Resources Directorate will carry out a small blasting operation on the eastern side of Rupert’s beach (near Bloody Bridge) at 4pm on Thursday, 24  November 2016.

Rupert’s residents and people working in close proximity to this area are requested to please adhere to the warning signs in place and stay clear of the affected areas whilst the blasting operation is taking place.

In preparation for the blasting at 4pm, residents and business workers will be required to evacuate the Rupert’s Bay area to the safety zone and temporary rest area at St Michael’s Church by 3.30pm.

The police and safety guards with red flags will be in position to assist and ensure that everyone adheres to the warnings and remains in the safe zone. On completion of blasting works, people will be allowed back into the Rupert’s Bay area.

ONE LONG CONTINUOUS SIREN WILL BE SOUNDED TO INDICATE THAT THE BLAST IS TAKING PLACE. THE ‘ALL CLEAR’ IS GIVEN WHEN THE SIREN SOUND STOPS.
