Acting Governor, Louise MacMorran, hosted a Tea to celebrate the Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle), at Plantation House, on Saturday, 19 May 2018.
Invited guests included couples who had married during the last year and others who had recently celebrated special wedding anniversaries.
During the event, the Acting Governor made a toast to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and invited guests enjoyed refreshments while watching the Royal Wedding live on TV.
Acting Governor Louise commented:
“This was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the Royal Wedding as well as celebrate the Institution of Marriage on St Helena. It was great to see so many happy couples, including one couple celebrating fifty years of marriage.
“On behalf of the people of St Helena, we would like to send our congratulations to their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
